The first question mark appeared when we realized after 1995 that what we admiringly called Advanced Economies and their organizations, of any kind, were not … so advanced. But we didn’t understand why. Apparently they provided good products and a good life – at least for some – but something didn’t quite match the picture we had of them in Eastern Europe before 1989. This is how the idea was born: what if everything was just an illusion we built within a specific politic and economic context, amplified by the difficulties we faced in the Eastern Europe at that time?
The idea evolved when we understood that fundamentally, the advanced economies and their organizations suffered of the same disease like the ones within developing economies:
Fragmentation – of Labour and Management
is at the heart of their performance problems too. The fragmented way we are organized today is essentially a 19th century legacy we still carry in our DNA and it is a “way of doing business” that cannot survive in the 21st century.
The next challenge was to understand why wave after wave of improvement initiatives across the western world – starting with Quality Standards and ending with IT Implementations – never solved the Organization’s problems, leaving them basically unchanged after experiencing them. We realized that
Improvement initiatives were themselves developed from the same fragmented perspectives.
As a consequence they were approaching organizations in the same manner. In other words, the fragmentation of labour and management influenced the development of improvement initiatives too.
Reaching this understanding in 2002 and continuing with Research and Development we created an organizational conceptual framework that includes the
Design, Execution and Improvement of a Company, all professionally Managed
It supports people and their organizations on their journey to become successful in the 21st Century by addressing fragmentation and all its negative consequences, while unlocking the full organizational potential. Over the years we called it Advanced Thinking.
Then we traveled the world helping leaders and their organizations through projects, training, advisory, conferences, seminars etc. Positive results of our Customers and their feedback gave us the morality & confidence to continue our journey and the possibility to continuously improve our Advanced Thinking.
As long as our customers are encouraging us to continue, we’ll never stop.
We would like to share with you our experiences about what the world is doing for a … better world!t
